Dating essay

Writing your personal statement can be one of the most satisfying--or frustrating--writing experiences you'll ever have.

The personal statement is an important part of your application package. Depending on the topic you choose, the essay you write provides additional evidence of your intellectual and creative achievement. The essay is also the only opportunity for the readers of your application to get a feel for you as a person as well as for you as a student. The essay is also the place where you can put your academic record into the context of your opportunities and obstacles.

There is no one correct way to write a personal statement, but in general those who will read your essay are looking for two important things:

• HOW the essay provides evidence of your achievements that isn't reflected in other parts of your application

• HOW and WHY the events that you describe have shaped your attitude, focus, and, most of all, your intellectual vitality.

This information will help you think about and craft a personal statement by taking you step by step through a process of brainstorming, drafting and revising. At the end, we hope that you will produce a personal statement that you are proud of and that will provide admissions officers with an accurate portrait of who you are and why a college education is important to you.

Argumentative Essay on Dating

In the men’s world today, a lot of the husbands still think making money is their responsibility, while housekeeping, cooking, and taking care of the children are the responsibilities of their wives, regardless if they have daily jobs or not. Therefore, women are doing a lot of extra works and accumulating a lot of stress, while the men are relaxing with beers and chips watching television. But now days some husbands are doing all the works at home, in exchange for respect and obedience from their wives when they are outside with friends. The perception of how men and women see each other from now and before time has changed drastically. Even the aspect of the dating point of view has changed.

Men are out for either lust or love and usually do not mix them up. When a man is out for lust, all that he really desires from her is sex. He does not take her seriously and does not have intentions of ending up with her. He basically is just in it for fun. When a man is out for love, he will wait much longer because he desires more than just sex. He desires her. Then, one of the things a man prefers is purity. The reason why a man prefers purity is because he does have or could have feelings for her. When a man is in love with a woman and she has never been with another man, it will make him feel good. But when a man is in love with a woman and she has been with other men, it will bother him. And the more men there have been, the more it may bother him and the harder it may be for him to accept. The way to tell if a man has serious intentions is if he waits a long time and gives her a commitment. Purity has been important to men from the beginning of recorded history. Several thousands of years ago, the ancient Greeks encouraged homosexual acts among men so that there would be virgins for them to marry. Even thirty years ago, the women men married were virgins. I think people should hold themselves to the same standards as they want the one they marry to hold themselves to. After all, to do otherwise is hypocritical.

From my experiences with dating, when you first start dating a woman things are always good in the beginning. Once you start having feelings for her and she knows that you really want to be with her things start to change. As things change, you and your love one start arguing more. You start arguing at little things such as who gets to sleep on what side of the bed, and where we going to go out to eat. The one thing that I hate the most is when you tell her you are going to go hang out with they guys tonight because its guy’s night out. She starts telling you things such as how come you won’t stay home and hang out with me? Or better yet, you always hang out with the guys u don’t like hanging out with me? Of course you going to stay home and do whatever she wants.

There certain ways a woman wants her man to treat her, I had a talk with my girlfriend and she gave me some ideas on how she likes to be treated. Put your arms around her waist and whisper in her ears. Kiss her every chance you get. Hold her close when she’s cold. When you are alone hold her close and kiss her. Kiss her on the tip of her nose (it will give her the hint that you want to kiss them.) While in the movie, put your arm around her and then she will automatically put her head on your shoulder; then lean in and tilt her chin and kiss her lightly. When she complains that her neck and shoulders hurts massage it for her. Look deep into her eyes and tell her you love you. Lay down under the stars and out her head on your chest so she can listen to the steady beat of your heart. Link your fingers together while you whisper to her as she rests her eyes and listens to you. Now make a wish about something you would like to happen between you and your crush. Most of these things I am still working on till this day.

In conclusion, the dating difference between men and women is not the same as it used to be back in history. For one, sex was not an issue for them back then. Now a day, it is a pretty big issue. Most people of our generation either starts having sex either in high school if not than in college. When men find the one that she loves, one of the things that are on his mind is if she is pure or not. It is the same to be said of what a women want in her man she finds the one true love of her life. One thing that is still the same is how women want a man to treat her. She just wants him to be a gentleman that is and treat her like the one and only princess of his life.

Assuming you've been given a topic, or have narrowed it sufficiently down, your first task is to research this topic. You will not be able to write intelligently about a topic you know nothing about. To discover worthwhile insights, you'll have to do some patient reading.

Read light sources, then thorough

When you conduct research, move from light to thorough resources to make sure you're moving in the right direction. Begin by doing searches on the Internet about your topic to familiarize yourself with the basic issues; then move to more thorough research on the Academic Databases; finally, probe the depths of the issue by burying yourself in the library. Make sure that despite beginning on the Internet, you don't simply end there. A research paper using only Internet sources is a weak paper, and puts you at a disadvantage for not utilizing better information from more academic sources.

Write d o wn quotations

As you read about your topic, keep a piece of paper and pen handy to write down interesting quotations you find. Make sure you write down the source and transcribe quotations accurately. I recommend handwriting the quotations to ensure that you don't overuse them, because if you have to handwrite the quotations, you'll probably only use quotations sparingly, as you should. On the other hand, if you're cruising through the net, you may just want to cut and paste snippets here and there along with their URLs into a Word file, and then later go back and sift the kernels from the chaff.

With print sources, you might put a checkmark beside interesting passages. Write questions or other thoughts in the margins as well. If it's a library book, use post-it notes to avoid ruining the book. Whatever your system, be sure to annotate the text you read. If reading online, see if you can download the document, and then use Word's Reviewing toolbar to add notes or the highlighter tool to highlight key passages.

Take a little from a lot

You'll need to read widely in order to gather sources on your topic. As you integrate research, take a little from a lot -- that is, quote briefly from a wide variety of sources. This is the best advice there is about researching. Too many quotations from one source, however reliable the source, will make your essay seem unoriginal and borrowed. Too few sources and you may come off sounding inexperienced. When you have a lot of small quotations from numerous sources, you will seem -- if not be -- well-read, knowledgeable, and credible as you write about your topic.

If you're having trouble with research, you may want to read this Research FAQ.

The dating life in New York City can grow tiresome and wearing. Two good friends with opposite relationship problems found themselves single at the same time. Tim is afraid of commitment, often dating many girls at once, and he’s losing sight of what a healthy relationship means. Jessica is a hopeless romantic, jumping into relationships too quickly, always looking to find “the one.”

It’s been said that it takes 40 days to change a bad habit. In an attempt to explore and hopefully overcome their fears and inadequacies, Tim and Jessica will go through the motions of a relationship for the next 40 days: the commitment, time, companionship, joys and frustrations. Can they help each other, or will they fall into their same habits? Will they damage their friendship? What if they fall in love?

How To Write an Online Dating Profile

Send to a Friend via Email

Recipient's Email

This field is required.

Separate multiple addresses with commas. Limited to 10 recipients. We will not share any of the email addresses on this form with third parties.

Step Four: Write Your Online Dating Profile Essay, Step One

The meat of your online dating profile is the "about me" section, which is called various things on different dating sites. No matter what its title, most online dating sites will require a paragraph or two from you in essay format, describing who you are and what you are looking for. If this part of the process seems too daunting to you, or if you'd rather not invest the time, sign up at one of the online speed dating sites instead, as most don't use essay introductions in their profiles.

Quickly brainstorm what you'd like to share in the essay portion of your dating profile on a piece of paper. Hobbies, interests, work and family are all things to consider. Then, circle three to five things that you think are the most interesting or engaging. These points are what you'll focus on weaving into your essay next, using what I call the "Fly On the Wall" technique.

First, of the points you circled, does one of them imply a place that you spend a lot of time in? If so, try writing a sentence or two that describes why that place is special to you. For instance, you may spend a lot of time in coffee shops writing on your laptop, reading a book or chatting with friends. Keep whatever your reasons are in the back of your mind as you move to the next step.

Using the coffee shop example again, imagine yourself at the coffee shop. Would someone waiting in line to order notice you, and if so, what would they see, hear or experience coming from your general direction?
